Huntington Beach

During Ross' surgery on Friday, I took the kids to Huntington Beach. We had so much fun playing in the sand and letting the waves crash up on our legs. We also had a great 5 buck lunch at Subway and enjoyed walking through the farmer's market. A great day on the beach! We'll be back there soon!

Swim Lessons!

I am so in love w/ the YMCA! First of all, we get to go for free...yes that is a $79 savings each month (709/year)! *The Army pays for it* Also the childcare is great. The employees are so friendly and they hold all sorts of fun family events. This past week they had $5 swim lessons! So, Ezra got 4 lessons, a swim bag, and a t-shirt all for 5 bucks! I love good deals like this! I am always on the look out for great deals and I jump at the opportunity!
Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

In Praise of Stay at Home Moms

I got my copy of Dr. Laura Schlessinger's "In Praise of Stay at Home Moms"! I can't wait until the kids are in bed tonight and I can start reading!
Dr. Laura used to be a feminist. Than when she was 35 yrs old she had a change of heart. She realized the importance of a woman's roll in the home. She is a strong advocate for families making financial sacrifices so that mom's can "be their own kid's mom". Dr. Laura is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the author of ten New York Time's best sellers. One of her most popular books is called, "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." She encourages women to once again make their man feel like a man! She often tells women to start treating their husband like they were their girlfriends again! Remember how good we treated our husbands while dating? Well why should that end in marriage?! I have to continue working on this since I struggle with quick tongue lashings. I try hard though to make my man feel great when he walks into our home by having the house picked up, children happy, dinner in the oven, and greeting him with a big hug and smooch letting him know how glad I am that he is home.
Anyway, I am so happy that someone has written a book encouraging the stay at home mom. Too often we are looked down on. I can't wait to get reading! I will be reporting all that I am learning and being encouraged by. This book just came out yesterday and can be found at several places online and in stores. So, if you are curious and need a little encouragement check out this book! This also is said to make a great Mother's day gift for the stay at home moms in your life or for people who struggle with the decision to stay at home.
