Midwife For Me!

I had my first appointment today! It was with the nurse and we went over medical history and all that good stuff. I also got a bazillion tubes of blood drawn. I also got to choose whether I wanted to see doctors or a midwife! I was so excited that this was an option at the military facility! I chose a midwife and I am really happy about it! I had a midwife with Ezra for all of my prenatal care, and I just love their attitude on childbirth.
With the doctors I was going to see a different doctor each visit. With the midwife, I just see one and she is a she!=)
They also encourage natural childbirth, which I am all about and hope to be able to do with this baby. I went 22 hours with Ezra before I begged for an epidural....maybe with some coaching and being more educated I will be able to do the whole thing! Also, hopefully this labor won't be 32 hours long!
I have my first real appt where they check out the baby in 2 weeks! I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat!

Week 9

I can't believe I am already at week 9! In the midst of my overwhelming fatigue and my head in the toilet it feels like this first trimester will never end, but looking back over the last 5 weeks, it is going fast!

Baby Development: The baby is the size of a strawberry now. All of his/her organs are developed as well as the nerves and muscles. The baby is very active, but I can't feel the movements yet. Cartilage and bones are forming this week!

How I feel: Tired! Sleepy! Exhausted! I do get sick everyday, but it isn't constant. I notice it more at night when I am overly exhausted. My clothes are getting tighter and tighter!

Planning: We haven't really started any major planning....as in where the baby will sleep, names, etc. We decided to wait until we know the gender to start looking for a name.
We did find out this last week that our insurance with the military ends the day Ross gets out....Oct 26th! We thought we had 3 months of coverage after he got out! So, as of now we don't have insurance for the last 2 months of my pregnancy! It will work out though.....it always does.=)

Dr. Appt: I have one this Thursday!!! I'll let you know how it goes!

Cooling Off

We went to the zoo this past weekend and it was HOT! After walking around for 2 hours we found a place for Ezra to cool off!

8 weeks

I officially have a "baby bump". I have always heard women show earlier with their second baby than their first. Sure enough, this has proven true in my case! I'll start posting weekly updated pictures of the preggo belly.

It's Here.

Morning sickness has arrived. Whoever decided to call it morning sickness is a moron. It lasts all day long! I am tired, and think about puking often! I had to pull over today while driving to puke in my subway cup. It is a reminder though that the pregnancy is progressing, so that I am very thankful for!

I have been so tired lately. I slept in until 9:30 this morning, and have been dragging all day long. The last two nights I have taken naps at 5pm! By 10pm I am ready for bed again!

I am very thankful though, for our little growing baby.
All of this yuckyness is worth a little baby.

Flowers

Here are the pictures of the flowers my mom planted. They have bloomed a lot more since I took these pictures.

Silly Julius

Here are updated pictures of Julius. He has puppy training at the end of the month and I am very excited for him to do that! He needs a little discipline. We had to shampoo the carpets on Saturday because he was marking his spots! I was very mad when I walked into the guest room and is reeked of urine! He was about to be a dead dog. He is no longer allowed upstairs. I have forgiven him, but I keep a very close eye on him.

Dollar Store vs. Name Brand

I am talking about pregnancy tests. Do the dollar store ones work? Or should we spend the 5+ bucks per test to get the name brand test? Well a friend of mine and I were talking about this. I have always been sceptical about buying dollar store pregnancy test. I decided to try and put this to the test!
I was a little embarrassed buying a pregnancy test in a dollar store.....but I did it...I stood in line with my two tests and paid my two dollars. (Would have been ten at Walmart!)

Anyway, I already knew I was pregnant, so if they came up negative, they didn't work, but if they were positive, they must work..right?

Here is the answer: They work! Next child I will be buying all my tests at the dollar store! Sorry First Response!
